The theme is grounded in the context of the erasure of narratives protagonized by women who, at the beginning of the 20th century, through a metaphorical neologism added to the name Amélia, had their arduous labor and identity characterized within the context of domestic work and female fragility. The choice of the city of Marapanim was due to its popularity during the July vacation period and end-of-year holidays, as well as its cultural recognition in the field of carimbó, leaving other areas such as language, education, and oral histories in a secondary plane of ancestral identity. The personal connection I have with the city was a fundamental factor in choosing to conduct in loco research. The general objective of the research was to identify the existence of popular educational methods that “amelisize” oral narratives authored by women from Marapanim, as well as the occurrence of female identity erasure in popular Marapanim narratives. The specific objectives were: to define the existence of “Tales of Amélia” in narratives from Marapanim authored or narrated by women; to record and analyze the discourse of these narratives within the popular context as a form of local identity; and to correlate the role of the female narrator with the stigma of the primordial educator within the context of the Amélia. The theoretical framework is based on authors such as Brandão (2007), Santos (2023), Bakhtin (2010), Orlandi (2022), and Chiampi (1997), particularly regarding studies on popular narratives, discourse analysis, and identity, social, and linguistic erasure. Methodologically, a qualitative, field-based approach was adopted, focusing on discourse analysis through ethnographic research. The culmination of the research includes four narrators; however, the analytical focus is on narratives by women aged between 50 and 94, primarily from Marapanim. Data were collected through recordings of oral narratives, aiming to analyze them from a discursive and ethnographic perspective. The results demonstrated that the older the narrator, the more stories are preserved, whereas the younger the narrator, the more feminine elements are incorporated into the text.PPGED - Saberes culturais e educação na Amazônia
