Thus, the region stands out in the national and international scenario. The present research seeks to find out how much and what is the news about the Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) Belo Monte and its actors. In the first moment the coverage of the journalistic coverage in the American, European and Asian continents, from 2005 to 2017, was done in 24 journalistic sites. The technique of Content Analysis (CA) was applied to quantitatively and qualitatively assess the results. There were 1,188 news articles / reports. The years 2010, 2011 and 2012 were the peak in news production due to the concession auction of the Usina, which allowed the construction of the construction site and protest of the indigenous peoples. As one of the main impacts of the construction of the hydroelectric plant, there was a need to investigate how indigenous peoples were represented by newspapers. Of the 1,188 stories, only 52 out of 15 sites addressed the struggle of these peoples against the Usina. Foreign newspapers, if compared to nationals, gave more priority to the speech of indigenous peoples in the subjects. The deepening of national content and little space for indigenous peoples was noticeable in national matters. Although Asia was the continent with the lowest register of sites that reported, the coverage of the Belo Monte HPP was constant on an international and national scale, from 2005 to 2017.PPGCA - Estudos de ecossistemas amazônicos
