It is important for these students to understand the concept of the area of plane figures so they do not become dependent on memorizing formulas. In the search to answer this question, the following general objective was established: to analyze the effects on learning through experimental activities in the teaching of areas of plane figures in a 4th stage EJA class. The methodology of this work was based on Artigue's Didactic Engineering (1995), unfolding into four stages: preliminary analyses, conception and a priori analysis, experimentation, and a posteriori analysis and validation. A consultation was conducted in documents such as: National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) and the reference matrix of the National Examination for the Certification of Youth and Adult Skills (ENCCEJA) as the theoretical basis for this study. A literature review was also performed on the works of: Pacheco, 2009; Pacheco, Giraffa, 2010; Molon, 2011; Valença, 2016; Araújo, Silva, 2020. To diagnose the level of understanding regarding the areas of plane figures among elementary school graduates, a field investigation was promoted in the capital of Pará during the year 2024. Based on this path, a teaching intervention was carried out with 20 students from a public school in Belém/PA (2025). An educational product was validated and provided as a contribution to help teachers and students minimize difficulties in the teaching and learning of the area of plane figures in the 4th stage of EJA. This product consists of a didactic sequence focused on experimental activities (Sá, 2019). The results indicated that the impacts of the intervention through Experimental Activity went beyond the construction of learning, favorably affecting attendance, the awakening of interest in learning, active involvement, and the perception of self-confidence in a large portion of the student body.PPGEM - Metodologia para ensino de matemática no nível fundamental
