The sources of Belém-PA, an Amazonian metropolis, are located within an Environmental Protection Area, APA Belém, which has suffered over the years aggressions of anthropogenic origin that are compromising the quality of the water that supplies the population of the Region metropolitan of Belém. This study aims to make the multi-temporal monitoring of water quality of water sources, and perform analysis spatiotemporal use and land cover, correlating by multivariate analysis, the use of classes and soil cover with the water analysis of sources in the period 1984- 2015. The results showed that many parameters showed values outside the standard of quality set by CONAMA, and the pH, color, n-ammonium and nitrate were the parameters that showed major differences. One of the factors that directly influence the water quality in the raw water abstraction point of the Guama River is that this be within 200 meters of the mouth of the Aura River, which carries the leached slurry by landfill Aurá, inserted into the APA Belém. Multivariate analysis found that there are strong correlations between the use of classes and coverage and water quality parameters analyzed during the study period, which allowed infer that these correlations are associated with the impacts of increasing urbanization in the vicinity of springs, causing increase in building area, loss of vegetation, loss of water surface and eutrophication of lakes Bolonha and Black Water, a consequence of the presence of organic matter in the wastewater generated by human action.PPGCA - Meio ambiente e sustentabilidade
