In this perspective, this study proposed to develop an educational product, registered in the ISBN, “a didactic sequence by in situ simulation”, which included the participation of nursing and medical residents and preceptors, who work in the surgical center of the Fundação Hospital de Clínicas Gaspar Viana, Belém, Pará, with the safe surgery practices of residency programs. A descriptive, quantitative and qualitative research was carried out with the application of a semi-structured questionnaire and interview. The quantitative and qualitative variables were analyzed independently. In the quantitative analysis, a 5-point Likert scale was used to assess the agreement and the importance of the educational practice. The quantitative data were presented in the GraphPad Prism version 5.0 program (GraphPad, San Diego, CA, USA). The qualitative analysis was performed using the content analysis proposed by Bardin (2023), with the aid of the IRAMUTEQ tool version 0.7 Alpha 2. This study contributed to the academic and professional training of residents and to the improvement of the pedagogical skills of preceptors, as well as produced knowledge about health teaching methodologies, and it was possible to conclude that the proposed in situ simulation didactic sequence proved to be an effective and innovative strategy for teaching and learning safe surgery practices in health residency programs.PPG-ESA - Gestão e planejamento em ensino na saúde na Amazônia
