During the school years, the musculoskeletal system undergoes intense growth and adaptation, making this population susceptible to the development of postural alterations, which are frequently associated with musculoskeletal symptoms and functional impairments. In this context, Global Postural Reeducation (GPR) stands out as a physiotherapeutic approach aimed at muscular rebalancing and postural reorganization. This dissertation was developed in a Scandinavian format and comprises two articles. Article 1 aimed to analyze the clinical and postural profile of schoolchildren, whereas Article 2 aimed to investigate the effects of GPR on postural alterations in this population. This study included 56 schoolchildren aged 9 to 12 years, enrolled in a public school in Belém, Pará, Brazil. Initially, an observational analysis was conducted to characterize the clinical and postural profile of the participants (Article 1), followed by a quasi-experimental phase involving 26 schoolchildren who underwent pre- and post-intervention assessments, of whom 24 comprised the final sample (Article 2). Sociodemographic, clinical, and postural variables were assessed using standardized photographic analysis, computerized photogrammetry according to the SAPO protocol, and the finger-to-floor flexibility test. The intervention consisted of eight individual GPR sessions conducted over four weeks. The results demonstrated a high frequency of postural alterations, particularly shoulder asymmetries, changes in the Thales triangle, and alterations in spinal alignment, especially in the lumbar and thoracic segments. Headache was the most frequent musculoskeletal complaint, followed by low back pain and dorsalgia, in addition to reduced flexibility as assessed by the finger-to-floor test. After the intervention, a reduction in pain complaints was observed, with all participants classified as asymptomatic, as well as a significant reduction in finger-to-floor distance and postural alterations, particularly in the anterior and lateral views, involving segments such as the head, shoulders, and spine. However, no significant changes were observed in some of the variables assessed in the posterior view. It was concluded that the GPR intervention was associated with improvements in clinical and postural aspects among schoolchildren, indicating its potential as a physiotherapeutic approach for the management of musculoskeletal alterations in this population. Nevertheless, future studies with larger sample sizes, a control group, and longitudinal follow-up are needed to assess the consistency and maintenance of the observed effects.PPGREAB - Avaliação e intervenção terapêutica nos sistemas neuromuscular
