The study adopted a qualitative approach based on the assumptions of oral history, using narrative interviews and field observation as its main methodological procedures. Its theoretical and methodological framework is grounded in New Cultural History, with emphasis on authors such as Peter Burke and José D’Assunção Barros. In addition, the research draws on the concepts of popular education developed by Paulo Freire and Carlos R. Brandão, as well as on decolonial perspectives, engaging in dialogue with authors such as Catherine Walsh, Aníbal Quijano, Roger Chartier, and Néstor Canclini in order to discuss the relationship between practice, culture, art, and resistance. The findings reveal that graffiti in Belém is an educational practice that reflects and values local forms of knowledge and cultural identities, and is also used by artists as an educational tool and, at the same time, as a means of resistance and visibility for peripheral groups.PPGED - Saberes culturais e educação na Amazônia
