It deals with the insurgence of an Intercultural Anti - Pauperphobic Education to pertain to questions on the being, belonging, existing, (and surviving) of homeless people in the context of the city of Belém in Pará state. The research question is: how can the socio-educational practices held in Casa Rua Nazareno Tourinho and Praça da Bandeira contribute to the insurgence of Intercultural Anti -Pauperphobic Education? As for the objectives, the main goal is to analyse the socio-educational practices carried with homeless people in Casa Rua Nazareno Tourinho and Praça da Bandeira, while the specific objectives focus on a) describing the ways of being, belonging, existing, (and surviving) of homeless people in Belém do Pará; b) characterizing the particularities of art -educators’ socioeducational practices; c) identifying the theoretical and methodological references that beacon such practices within the homeless people context; and d) understanding how socioeducational practices contribute to the insurgence of an Intercultural Anti –Pauperphobic Education in Belém. Methodologically centered in a dialogic qualitative study, based on Antonio Faundez and Paulo Freire (2021) as well as Oliveira (2015), Walsh (2009), and Lancellotti (2021), this research’s analysis uses the opposing frameworks of dialogicity and antidialogicity to argue that Casa Rua Nazareno Tourinho fostered the acknowledgment and valuation of homeless people’s practices of everyday life as well as the insurgence of na Intercultural Anti-Pauperphobic Education through art-educators’ socio-educational actions such as painting, theater activities, and sensitive listening on Praça da Bandeira. The researc h data corpus was systematized by the collection of data from talks, field notes, and photography. A homeless trans woman, a homeless man deprived of his liberty, and an art -educator took part in this research. The research results demonstrate that the val orization of critical interculturality, integrative health practices, and artistic expressions, such as music, dance, drawing, and theater, expands the possibilities for care, listening, and participation. This shifts the assistance provided to the Amazonian homeless population beyond the traditional biomedical-medical-clinical model, which is often constrained by institutional and scientific pauper-phobic bias. The analytical data also indicated that the phenomenon of homelessness in the Amazon requires progressive socio-educational practices to construct pedagogical alternatives against pauperphobia and to promote the intercultural recognition and valorization of these individuals within the city of Belém.PPGED - Saberes culturais e educação na Amazônia
