In Brazil, although the National Patient Safety Policy (PNSP) was established in 2013, there is a gap between the National Curriculum Guidelines (DCN) and the practical demands for safe care. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of a didactic sequence on the level of knowledge of health academics regarding patient safety. This is an educational intervention research, with a quasi-experimental before-and-after design (pre-test and post-test) and a quantitative approach. The final sample consisted of 53 academics from health courses at Faculdade Gamaliel (FATEFIG), in Tucuruí- PA. Data collection used a Likert scale instrument, followed by an intervention based on active methodologies over four days. The results showed a significant change in the knowledge pattern: in the pre-test, only 25.0% of the participants showed agreement regarding the mastery of the six international goals, a rate that rose to 90.6% in the post-test. Critical domains, such as safety in medication prescription and administration, jumped from 40.0% to 85.0% agreement. Inferential analysis using the Wilcoxon test showed a statistically significant difference (? ≤ 0.05) between the scores, confirming the effectiveness of the intervention. As products, the study generated an integrative literature review and a structured didactic sequence. It is concluded that intentional and contextualized pedagogical strategies are fundamental to overcome curricular fragmentation, consolidating critical and reflective skills essential for mitigating incidents and promoting a safety culture in healthcare.PPG-ESA - Fundamentos e metodologias em ensino na saúde na Amazônia
