Accordingly, this research aims to identify the contributions of a specific Didactic Sequence designed to minimize difficulties highlighted in the traditional classroom model regarding the learning of basic concepts of triangle similarity in the 9th grade of elementary school. To achieve this objective, it is necessary to apply a Didactic Sequence based on the UARC model with students from a 9th-grade class at a municipal public school in the city of Redenção, consisting of 12 students. For the development of this research, the methodological framework adopted is the Didactic Engineering proposed by Artigue (1996), along with the theoretical assumptions of the structure for designing Didactic Sequences according to the UARC model proposed by Cabral (2017), the contributions of Goés (2000) for data collection through Microgenetic Analysis, and the Discourse Analysis by Mortimer and Scott (2002). During the application of the didactic sequence, it was possible to observe evidence of chained learning, since the subsequent activities depended on the knowledge acquired in the previous activity. It is expected that the product of this research will contribute positively to the teaching of triangle similarity and other basic aspects of geometry.PPGEM - Metodologia para ensino de matemática no nível fundamental
