The main objective of this research was to develop sustainable strategies for managing chemical waste generated at the Chemistry Laboratory of Campus XVIII of the State University of Pará (UEPA), located in Cametá, Pará. Among the strategies adopted, temporary storage of chemical waste for reuse or proper final disposal stands out, contributing to reducing the consumption of new reagents and organizing their safe disposal. The study involved surveying the types of waste generated, categorizing them according to associated risks, and developing protocols for segregation, labeling, and safe storage. The results demonstrate that the application of these strategies promoted greater environmental awareness among those involved and established a solid foundation for the implementation of an institutional Chemical Waste Management Plan (PGRQ). This initiative reinforces the university's commitment to social and environmental responsibility in the academic and scientific context of the Amazon region.
