To this end, an applied study employing both qualitative and quantitative approaches was conducted, involving ten Occupational Therapy residents from major referral hospitals. The study was carried out in three stages: an initial assessment of training needs via a structured questionnaire; the development of a didactic sequence and a practical guide based on a literature review and identified gaps; and the implementation of the proposal as a course featuring theoretical and practical activities, as well as high-fidelity simulation. The intervention was evaluated using pre- and post-tests and qualitative feedback from participants. Results showed a significant increase in knowledge following the intervention, alongside improved self-confidence in handling end-of-life situations, a greater appreciation for the multiprofessional approach, and recognition of the effectiveness of active learning methodologies—particularly high-fidelity simulation and the Socratic circle. However, challenges in coping with death and suffering persisted, highlighting the need for training strategies that also address emotional support and existential reflection. The development of the didactic sequence and practical guide constituted the study's primary contribution, offering innovative pedagogical tools applicable across various training contexts. The study concludes that this proposal represents a significant advancement in palliative care training, promoting more ethical, humanized, and holistic practices within the hospital environment.PPG-ESA - Fundamentos e metodologias em ensino na saúde na Amazônia
