It starts with the following question: how, in the cultural practice of Marierrê, are educational processes permeated by knowledge that make up a pedagogy of celebration? It also asks: how do the historical and geographical aspects of the village of Carapajó contribute to the construction of a festive ethos? How does the festival educate the residents? What knowledge circulates during the celebrations? The general objective is to analyze Marierrê as a historical and educational event crossed by multiple types of knowledge, from which a festive pedagogy emerges. The specific objectives seek to: identify the historical and geographical aspects that favor the constitution of the festive ethos; analyze the ways in which the festival becomes a space for learning; and describe the knowledge in circulation during Marierrê. This is qualitative ethnographic research, inspired by the studies of Geertz (2008). The research is also based on the contributions of the New Cultural History, with Bloch (1924), Braudel (1949), Le Goff (1981), Chartier (1990) and Revel (1998); it uses the resources of Oral History, with Thompson (2002) and Portelli (1997). In the field of non-school education and knowledge, she relies on Albuquerque (2012), Albuquerque et al (2016), Medaets (2011; 2020), Bondía (2002). It also articulates the contributions of cultural pedagogies and their intersections with education, with Beillerot (1985), Brandão (1980, 1985) and Gohn (2006). Among the considerations, it affirms the existence of a pedagogy of the festival present at Marierrê, where learning processes take place in everyday relationships, in the rituals and preparations that precede and sustain the festival. In this event, the concept of education goes beyond the school space and reveals ways of teaching and learning that involve different generations and are manifested through the practices of celebrating. The thesis thus highlights the existence of an educational practice located in the Tocantina Amazon, based on a festival pedagogy sustained by knowledge that resists the invisibilization promoted by modern western logic.PPGED - Saberes culturais e educação na Amazônia
