In this scenario, the use of simulation models proves to be an efficient and viable alternative and an important tool that can help in the construction of Reliable Professional Activities. Objective: Validate a simulation model for training and learning tympanotomy and ventilation tube insertion in the Otorhinolaryngology residency Method: This is an initially cross-sectional and descriptive study through the evaluation of the simulator by 16 otorhinolaryngologists and 12 residents in Otorhinolaryngology. And subsequently, a prospective pre- and post-intervention study to evaluate the progression of competence, learning curve and degree of satisfaction of residents after theoretical-practical training. Results: The simulator was positively evaluated by expert judges (91.46%) and resident doctors (93.61%), with an overall average score of 8.94 and 9.17, respectively. The points with the lowest agreement among experts were: interface (85.42%), aesthetic evaluation (85.42%) and presence of anatomical references (83.33%). There was a reduction in the average time to perform the procedure and the number of complications, from 19.62 minutes and 05 complications before to 10.88 minutes and no complications after the training sessions. Improvement in the global performance of pre- and posttraining residents regarding the size and location of the tympanotomy, insertion of the ventilation tube and compliance with surgical times. The degree of satisfaction with the training was high with 92.48% agreement. Conclusion: The tympanotomy and ventilation insertion simulator was validated by expert judges and resident doctors and, together with theoretical-practical training, constituted a valuable educational toolfor the development of surgical skills in Otolaryngology.PPG-ESA - Fundamentos e metodologias em ensino na saúde na Amazônia
